Women’s Soccer Team Competes in their Annual Ironwoman Competition
The Central Penn Women’s Soccer team conducted its annual Ironwoman competition on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The competition includes five fitness events and four technical activities in a Soccer Olympics format.
In the overall competition, Madalyn Brymesser and ANia Lalic tied for first place again this year with each winning four events. First year player, Honestee Coldsmith, won the vertical leap event with a jump of 22.1 inches. The top four finishers received a long-sleeved t-shirt with our Knights logo and “Ironwoman” written on the sleeve.
Coach Grubesky commented, “This competition is a good teambuilding event as well as being fun for the players to compete in this Soccer Olympics-type of event. Our coaching staff does a lot to prepare for this competition and we appreciated the assistance of Coach Dave Brixius, Founder of Explosive Sports Performance.”
He is also the strength and conditioning coach for the Messiah University women’s soccer team. Coach Brix also talked to our team about the importance of working out in the offseason and he helped to run several of the fitness tests.
Coach Nick Saban and Coach John Madden are often quoted as saying “Championships are won in the offseason or Champions are made in the offseason,” respectively. This event was a good way to kick-off our offseason.
Coach Grubesky added, “Our ladies not only had to complete each event, but had to battle the cold and windy weather conditions, too. It was a tough season, so we wanted to end with this competitive and fun event.”
