Knights knock off King’s College in a lopsided battle
The Central Penn College Knights defeated the King’s College Monarchs, 13-5, on Tuesday afternoon in Aberdeen, Maryland at the Ripken Experience facility.
The Knights had a very strong performance against the NCAA Division III Monarchs having 16 total hits compared to 12 for the Monarchs. The Knights had a group effort. Left fielder, David Thomas, led the Knights with three hits, and center fielder Nic Joseph contributed three runs.
The Knights had a stellar pitching as well. Starting pitcher, Cameron Smiley put on a performance on the bump, striking out six and giving up two earned runs. Smiley was followed by Jowan Morales, Colten Zerby, and William Baker, who all gave up five hits combined and only gave up two runs.
The Monarchs had a strong performance by second baseman Jaiden Wanamaker.
The Knights improve their record to 4-2 and will look to continue their win streak against Lancaster Bible College in a nine-inning game.
