Sharai Thornton
Bio

Sharai Thornton is the Assistant Coach for the Central Penn College women’s basketball team, where she brings energy, leadership, and a guard’s mindset to the sidelines. A former standout at John Harris High School, Sharai played as a guard and developed a reputation for hustle, court awareness, and grit—qualities she now instills in her players.

She continued her basketball and academic journey at Central Penn College, earning a degree in Business Administration. After graduation, she transitioned into coaching while also building a professional career outside of basketball. Sharai currently works as a realtor and as an administrative assistant at UPMC, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in every area of her life.

Sharai’s coaching philosophy centers on effort and accountability, inspired by her favorite quote:

“You can’t control the minutes you play, but you can control the minutes you get.”

She’s passionate about helping student-athletes grow not just as players, but as individuals—on the court and beyond.
