Knights and Lady Knights take on Southern State
By Paige Pendl, Student Reporter
Saturday morning had both teams taking on Ohio's very own Southern State. As the women's team took the court, the game began with intensity and a back and forth possession. The Lady Knights struggled to take the lead, but kept fighting to stay in the game. Approaching the half, the Knights were down by 13, only a 6-basket game.
The Lady Knights continued to fight through the second half with power and heart. With great takes to the basket from Jade Adams and Melissa Ruiz, the team was able to keep the score close but in the end they just couldn't break the seal and unfortunately, the lady Knights took a loss, 80-63. Concluding the women's game the men took the court for another rough game, but very winnable.
The men started off with a bang racking in the points and half court pressing their opponents. With many steals and more points racked up, by the half the men led by over 20 points. The game ended with the Knights scoring another dynamic victory, 126-78. A great trip to Southern State for the boys and the team then left for their next game vs Kent State, as the women's team begin their trek back home to Pa.
