Lady Knights win inaugural "Tip-Off" tournament

Congratulations to the Lady Knights basketball team on winning their first-ever Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend by beating Penn State Scranton 69-45 andPenn State Mont Alto 61-47.

In Friday's night game against Scranton, Ja’Lynn Burton led the team with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Hannah Brown and Alexis Pinnick each added 11 points. Leana Borreli had 8 points and 6 assists. Wislene Verna had 6 points and 2 steals.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard,” said Coach Kasey Hicks (shown coahing her team). She was proud of how well her team came together to beat Scranton.

The Lady Knights were not finished just yet. On Saturday, Central Penn went up against Mont Alto for the championship—Burton finished the game with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 7 steals. Brown had 13 points and 10 rebounds, with Borreli adding 8 points to the team.

Brown was selected to the All-Tournament Team selection and Burton was voted Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Come out and support your Lady Knights on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. They play against Wilson College.
