On Saturday, Central Penn defeated NHTI, 84–79, in a hard-fought game in the Williamson Tournament in Media, Pa. On Sunday, the Knights wouldn’t fare as well, dropping an 80–71 contest to Vermont Tech.
Against NHTI, four starters for Central Penn were in double figures, with guard Tyler White knocking in 18 points for the victors. Ryan Lawrence contributed 16, with Noah Baylor and Trent Watson each chipping in 15.
The Knights shot a respectable 49% from the field and an impressive 55% from beyond the arc. Central Penn were up by nine at half, 47–38, and held off the dangerous NHTY Lynx, who were led by forward Deric Jackson’s 24 points.
Against Vermont Tech, the same four starters were also in double figures, with Baylor and Lawrence leading the way with 17 points apiece. However, it wouldn’t be enough.
In a tough contest, Vermont Tech eked out a three-point lead, 38–35, at halftime. In the second half, the Knights battled hard but weren’t able to cut into the deficit. Vermont Tech outscored Central Penn by six in the final 20 minutes to win the contest, 80–71.
